    There is so many make up artist available and typing “best make up artist” into Google isn’t really going to help you. Having a make up artist you are comfortable with is hugely important as they are part of a very special part of your day – the wedding morning. As a bride you want to feel relaxed on your special day. The wedding morning can be a stressful time but with the right team helping you to get ready can make a massive difference. Do your research. Speak to a few artists, have a look at their social media and websites and get a feel for their style and clients to see if you think you would be a good match. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and have a chat with them. Most of us are nice I promise! Book a trial. At the trial you sit down and have a good chat about your special day and get a true feel for what you want out of it. A great make up artist will listen to everything and discuss the looks you want to achieve and give you advice before you even start applying make up. Having a good relationship will help to relax you as a bride and be confident in a smooth and stress-free wedding morning.

Luxury brands such as NARS, GIORGIO ARMANI, MAC, Bobbi Brown, BECCA, Charlotte Tilbury, Chanel, HUDA, Anastasia BH, STILA, Urban Decay, Clinque, Estee Lauder, Lancôme, Benefit and Laura Mercier provide some of the staples of my extensive kit, plus of course a few insider secrets and wonder products. The importance of your makeup lasting from morning to evening is essential, for that reason she uses high end quality products to achieve a fantastic long-lasting look.
  • How long will the bridal make up trial take?

    Trials are usually arranged eight to twelve weeks prior to the wedding date, unless it is a last-minute booking. She will travel to you so the trial can be carried out in the comfort of your own home. However, should you prefer, you can also travel to her home in South West London for your trial.The consultation usually lasts two hours and communication is key.
  • Why do you need to have a wedding make up trial?

    Emma wants her brides to look and feel stunning on their wedding day, whether you choose a natural bride look, flawless skin, boho bride, softly smoked eyes, fuller coverage, vintage inspired bride, glamorous bride, soft glam bride or Hollywood glamorous bride look. She will create a bridal look tailored to your requirements but ensuring that your natural features are enhanced in every way. Before and After shots will be taken as well as a write up record of what products we used. After the trial consultation, she will put together a scheduled timetable for you. She will send you over your time schedule prior to the wedding day so you and your bridal party will know exactly what time they are needed.
  • What if I don’t know what make up look I want to do for my wedding day?

    Emma asks each bride to bring any ideas with them to the trial, many clients create Magazines, Instagram and Pinterest mood boards to help. Alternatively, you may not have any idea and we can discuss options. She prides herself in listening to her clients’ requirements. She will take time to discuss your wedding in detail, from your dress, colour scheme, flowers, wedding theme and your personal make-up style. She is also passionate about good skincare and can provide advice on how to achieve the best skin for your wedding day. The trial is where you can try different styles and looks so you are 100% happy and confident with the look you want to achieve on your wedding day.
  • How long will the make up take on my wedding day?

    On the day Emma will travel to you, for whatever time has been discussed at your trial and the run up to the wedding with plenty of time for touch ups and potential unforeseen hiccups. The make up will take place usually at the wedding venue or home of the bride to be. Emma will usually begin on the bridesmaids and other guests first, with the bride being the last person to be made over. She will be on hand until it is time for the bride to leave to ensure everyone looks fresh and pristine. All make up and lashes will be provided by Emma on the wedding day and only during special requirements from the bridal party will anything need to be supplied by them. Timing wise make up for the bride will typically take around 45 minutes to 60 minutes. With others taking 35 minutes or so.
  • Do I need to pay a deposit?

    Weddings can be busy business, as such, after first contact as soon as you decide you wish to book in for a trial you will need to pay the full trial amount as a deposit to hold your day. Please note your booking is not secured until we have received your initial deposit. Deposits are non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding date, payments can be made via bank transfer or cash.
  • Do you charge travel expenses?

    Travel is charged at 45p a mile after the first 15 miles from the artist’s postcode to wherever you’re getting ready on the day. A cost can be calculated for you.
  • How soon should I book you?

    Emma receives enquiries from Brides daily so if you have your wedding date and would like to book her, it is best to do so sooner rather than later.
  • How do I secure my wedding date?

    Send me a message via my contact page stating your wedding date, location and number of people requiring makeup. Once Emma has confirmed her availability, a £50 non-refundable booking fee will secure your wedding date in her diary. This fee can be paid by bank transfer or cheque and will be deducted from the wedding day make up fee.
